Housing is a Human Right! The dignified fight for homes in Mexico City and beyond

HOUSING IS A HUMAN RIGHT! with Enrique Reynoso of Los Panchos
11/10/2014 - 11/21/2014
Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota, Missouri, & Kansas

Enrique has spent more than 25 years organizing for housing rights and autonomous communities in Mexico City as a lead organizer and representative of the mass movement Frente Popular Francisco Villa (FPFVI- UNOPII, aka Los Panchos). Emerging from the government's inadequate response to the 1985 Mexico City earthquake, the Panchos have organized tens of thousands of people around access to dignified housing. But they don't play the party politics game to achieve their demands - they demand their rights and build it from the ground up. Enrique is an incredible community organizer with a wealth of experience and his talk will have important lessons for anyone interested in community organizing and housing rights.
