Undocumented, Unafraid, & Unapologetic: Fighting for Immigrant Rights with Dignity in Chicago and Beyond

Undocumented, Unafraid, & Unapologetic: Fighting for Immigrant Rights with Digni
10/20/2014 - 10/30/2014

with Antonio Gutiérrez of the Mexico Solidarity Network and Centro Autónomo

Antonio will speak about his work as an organizer for immigrant rights with the Immigrant Youth Justice League (IYJL). As a grassroots community organization made up of undocumented immigrants and allies, IYJL promotes the use of creative and courageous tactics to pressure politicians into changing immigration policies. By using direct actions such as story telling, rallies, protests, petitions, and civil disobedience, IYJL members became one of the first groups in the nation to put their bodies on the line to fight for basic human rights. Antonio's talk will inspire and challenge people to rethink how they understand immigration and way we choose to fight for human dignity.
