Host the caravan in your community . In the US, the caravan will travel along five routes stopping in dozens of cities for public events in which the mothers of the Juarez victims tell their personal stories. Speakers from the Mexico Solidarity Network and from Mexico will speak about the impact of neoliberal economic policies, especially the effects of NAFTA and maquiladoras in creating the dreadful conditions that characterize Juarez, but that are spreading like cancer throughout North America. Hosts are asked to provide a venue for a public event, access to the local media, and meetings with local editorial boards and congressional offices. To host the caravan, contact the Mexico Solidarity Network at [email protected].

Get involved today! If you are unable to host a caravan event, hold an event on the Day of the Dead (November 1st). Here are a few examples of things you can do:

  • Call for a demonstration in front of the local Mexican consulate.
  • Set up a shrine at a local church.
  • Meet with your Representatives to demand support for HR466 sponsored by Rep. Hilda Solis.
  • Meet with your local editorial board.
  • Hold an educational event at a local school or university.

Don't forget you can also sign up to travel on a caravan route, or attend the Juarez delegation on October 31-November 5.
